FAQ and other important info
Q: How do I remove Face Paints?
A: Face Paints can be removed with soap and water on a wash cloth or with baby wipes. If there is any slight staining, you can use a bit of cold cream and wash again with soap and water.
Q: Do you charge for Face Paint at Charity Events?
A: For as much as I would love to paint for free at charity events and fundraisers, I do this for a living and my supplies are expensive. I do offer discounts that enhance profits from my services for Registered Charities and Fundraisers.
Q: What type of paint do you use?
A: I use only FDA approved hypo-allergenic paints. All of my paints are cosmetic grade, theatrical face paints designed specifically for painting on faces and bodies. These paints are manufactured with an anti-microbial formula to prevent the spread of germs. I do not ever use acrylic or craft paints. All of my face paints are water soluble and safe to use on human skin.
Q: Do you sanitize your equipment?
A: I follow the Alberta Health Services guidelines for sanitization. All brushes and sponges are washed with soap and water, then sanitized with a 70% isopropyl alcohol solution and rinsed well. Cleanliness is of the utmost importance to me.
Q: How long does it take you to paint a face?
A: Depending on size, detail and time restrictions, faces can take anywhere from 3-10 minutes. For time limited parties I aim to take no longer than 5 minutes per face. "Fast Faces" are my speciality, especially for children under 6 years old that have a hard time sitting still for long.
Q: If a guest has a cold or open wound can they still be painted?
A: I don't paint anyone that is obviously sick, has a rash, open sore, cold sore or communicable disease.
Q: Do you have examples of selections to choose from?
A: Yes, I bring sample boards for you to choose your face painting from. Please keep in mind, my faces are all original art work, so no two are ever the same.
Q: What if a child doesn't want their face painted?
A: I never paint kids that don't want to be painted, I want this to be a fun experience for everyone! I do offer an alternative of painting on their arm or hand if they prefer.
